This posting is dedicated to my uncle, Sgt. Earl G. Moore, who died on this day (14 Feb 1944, sometime after 11:25 AM GMT) along with every crew member of their B-24 Liberator, after ditching their plane in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere 30-100 miles off the coast of Dakar, Senegal (West North Africa). Although an extensive search was made, no trace of the plane or crew was found. Earl left a bereaved wife, Georgene, that Valentine's Day morning. May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.
